ILA Berlin 2010
On the occasion of the 2010 International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA), Messe Berlin thanked the Swiss aerobatic team, Patrouille Suisse, for their spectacular display in Berlin by presenting them with an original piece of the Berlin Wall, symbolising the breaking of the sound barrier.
The section of the Wall was initially displayed in a prominent position in the entrance hall of the Swiss Embassy in Berlin-Mitte, right next to the Federal Chancellery.
It was finally deployed in 2011 at Emmen Air Base in the canton of Lucerne.
The artistic design of the ‘Formation’ theme was created by the artist Jakob Wagner.
